Bread pudding

Ingredients
10 slices of wholemeal bread
450ml semi skimmed milk
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tablespoon of oil
1 apple (cored, peeled and chopped)
125g sultanas
1 tablespoon of light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of mixed spice
Method
Preheat oven to 180° / Gas Mark 4
Cut the bread into cubes and place them in a bowl with the milk, leave to stand for five to 10 minutes until the bread soaks up all of the milk
Mix the egg and oil into the bread mixture and stir in the chopped apple, sultanas, sugar and mixed spice - spoon the mixture into a tin and press down
Bake in the centre of the oven for 40 to 45 minutes until golden, allow to cool then cut into squares
