Adult Cycle Skills Courses are back in September 2022
When it comes to cycling, are you a beginner, are your skills advanced, or do you sit somewhere in the middle?
With improvements in cycling infrastructure, the price of fuel and the climate emergency, cycling has never been a more attractive mode of transport.
So we’re here to help anyone who wants to improve their skills and knowledge, as a hobby, as a way to keep fit, or for anyone interested in taking their commute to two wheels.
Designed for adults in North Tyneside to improve their cycle proficiency, regardless of their current ability, the Adult Cycling Skills Courses are broken down to suit different levels of ability:
Gear use and avoiding hazards for the beginners, find out more here.
Negotiating junctions and road positioning for the intermediates, find out more here.
Roundabouts and multi-lane road use for the advanced, find out more here.
So when are the courses taking place and how can you book?
Beginners: Saturday 17 September at The Lakeside Centre, 9am-10.30am, book here.
Intermediate: Saturday 17 September at The Lakeside Centre, 10.45am-3pm, book here.
Advanced: Saturday 24 September at The Lakeside Centre, 10am-3pm, book here.
To participate, you will need:
• You will need to provide a roadworthy bicycle (with two working brakes)
• A helmet is not required, but is recommended
• Weather appropriate clothing (check the weather forecast!)
• There will be a break for refreshments, but you may also want to bring an additional drink of water (if you have the capability to store it on your bike or in a bag)
