Summer of Cycling 2024: Learn to Ride
Does your child have a bike but hasn’t mastered the art of how to ride it yet?
Learn to Ride courses aim to develop skills and achieve a key lifetime milestone - learning to ride a bicycle!
Suitable for those aged 5+, the free courses are taking place during the summer holidays!
What does the course cover?
Balancing
Gliding
Turning
Braking
Pedalling
What do they need?
A roadworthy bicycle - with any stabilisers removed
A helmet is not required but is recommended
Check the weather forecast prior to the course and wear suitable clothing
Sessions will take place at Hadrian Leisure Centre (St Peter's Rd, Wallsend, NE28 7LQ) on:
Monday 22 July: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm
Monday 29 July: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm
Friday 23 August: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm
Friday 30 August: 10.30-11.30am and 1-2pm

Bookings are provisional dependent on interest in the course. Bookings operate on a first come, first serve basis. Once you have made a booking, we will contact you to confirm arrangements.
